Some days ago, browsing around I found this old interview of Jim but since it’s all in German I asked my very good friend Kate from tonydenison.net some help to translate it for me and you.
A little while ago, the 200th episode of “The Big Bang Theory” aired in the USA. In it, Jim Parsons plays an eccentric physicist and sci-fi nerd. The highly paid actor – he earns one million dollars per episode – speaks about moments of panic, guest star Leonard Nimoy, and being a role model for lesbian and gay people.
Jim Parsons, since 2007 you have been playing Dr. Sheldon Cooper in “The Big Bang Theory”, a self-confident physicist with barely any social competence, who instead is fluent in Klingon. What do you two have in common?
Almost nothing. (smiles) We have no common interests, either. Often I don’t even understand what Sheldon is talking about. Luckily, we have scientists on set who make sure that I don’t say anything wrong. However, it is not always easy for me to communicate with them, because my brain capacity seems to be too limited. Of course, Sheldon is not completely foreign to me. It is the actor with his personal experiences who brings out the truth of a character, after all.
Has Sheldon’s worldview influenced your own, regarding extraterrestrial life forms, for example?
“Close Encounters of the Third Kind” is one of my favorite movies, but the universe is too big for me to seriously think about it. The thought that there might be life out there is strangely reassuring to me, but I have no idea what that might look like. I also do not have any ambition to travel into space to find out. I already make a fuss if I have to go to London.
Hello fellows. I’m sorry for the lack of updates with last two episodes but I’ve been a little bit busy and mostly sick, which didn’t get me much time online. Here are caps from both episodes. Enjoy!

Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons is making a rare foray into movies.
Parsons is in talks to star in Man-Witch, a long-gestating comedy set up at Warner Bros. Parsons will also develop the project and work behind the camera, joining Neal Moritz as a producer.
The move rejuvenates the project, which Warners first picked up as a pitch in 2005 for a reported $750,000 against a $1.5 million. Todd Phillips was looking to direct it before he took on The Hangover and it had Jack Black and Zach Galifianakis attached to star at certain points in its development.
The story tells of a schoolteacher (Parsons) who abruptly discovers he’s got witchlike powers. A coven of real witches take him in, promptly sending “witch school,” where he is the lone adult, surrounded by little girl witches-in-training.
Parsons made an appearance in the horror movie Visions, which was released this year, but for the most part eschews films due to his work on Big Bang. Among his handful of feature credits are Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here and 2011’s The Muppets.
He is repped by CAA, Principal Entertainment LA, and Gang Tyre.
